More than 30 guns stolen from Jeffrey Epstein’s New Mexico Zorro Ranch — but staff stonewalled police probe

Dozens of firearms were reportedly stolen from Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in 2018, but the investigation was hindered by the lack of cooperation from the staff. The stolen weapons, which included rifles, handguns, and antique guns, were taken from a large gun safe in a garage on the property, as well as from other buildings on the grounds. The break-in was discovered by the ranch staff, who reported it to the police and documented the serial numbers of the stolen weapons.

However, when the police tried to investigate further and requested the list of stolen weapons, the staff refused to cooperate and provide additional details. Despite their initial efforts to assist in the investigation, the staff’s sudden reluctance to cooperate led to the case being closed after a month. It remains unclear whether Epstein instructed the staff not to speak to the police, but emails from the FBI’s Epstein Files revealed that he directed them to a lawyer.

Epstein, who was prohibited from owning firearms for 10 years due to his 2008 felony conviction, kept a significant arsenal of weapons on his property. Despite his criminal record, he flouted the rules and even had a shooting range on the ranch. The firearms were stored in cabinets valued at $57,500 and insured as “fine art.” Additionally, various young women were photographed firing high-powered guns at the ranch.

The remote location of Zorro Ranch, situated in the New Mexico desert, raised concerns about the presence of a heavily armed staff, especially considering the allegations of abuse and bizarre activities on the property. Survivors of Epstein’s abuse have described feeling trapped and isolated at the ranch, where they were subjected to exploitation and manipulation.

While having firearms on a wilderness ranch is not uncommon for security and wildlife protection, the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s collection of weapons raise questions about the safety and security of the property.
