College grad, 22, who just landed dream job allegedly fatally shot by boyfriend’s dad

A tragic incident unfolded in Trussville, Alabama, where a recent college graduate, Whitney Robeson, lost her life in a fatal shooting allegedly carried out by her boyfriend’s father. The 22-year-old had just landed her childhood dream job as a trade consultant with Restoration Hardware after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in interior design. The shooting took place on March 7, and more than two months later, Jeffrey Scott Towers, the 54-year-old father of Robeson’s boyfriend, was arrested on manslaughter charges.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were ruled accidental by the Jefferson County Coroner, but details of how Towers mistakenly fired at Robeson have not been disclosed. Robeson, described as a woman grounded in faith and a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, was remembered by her family as someone who lived with grace, attentiveness, loyalty, and generosity.

Towers’ attorneys emphasized that their client, an upstanding citizen with no criminal record, was not guilty of the charges brought against him. They expressed the tragedy of the event and highlighted Towers’ history of being a productive and law-abiding member of society. Despite the arrest, Towers was released on $30,000 bond after being booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

The heartbreaking loss of Whitney Robeson serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the unforeseen tragedies that can occur. Her promising career in interior design was cut short, leaving family, friends, and the community in mourning. As the legal process unfolds, the memory of Robeson’s vibrant spirit and passion for her work will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
