Singapore’s RisingJoy Hits 50 Platform Deals, Plans Original Content

Singapore-based microdrama distributor RisingJoy has recently announced that it has secured content licensing agreements with over 50 apps and platforms in more than 30 countries. This move comes as the company looks to expand its presence in the market and take on a more comprehensive role that includes original production and co-development.

The expansion comes at a time when the microdrama market outside of China is expected to reach $4.2 billion this year, according to Media Partners Asia. RisingJoy has already established partnerships with key platforms such as Viu, Kuku TV, and IDN App. The company emphasizes that its selection process is data-driven, with a focus on titles that demonstrate active audience engagement rather than just filling up catalog space.

RisingJoy boasts a diverse catalog of over 400 Chinese-language, 200 English-language, and 50 Korean titles that cover a range of genres including variety, reality, and comedy. Some of its flagship Chinese productions, such as “Summer Rose,” “The Blade of Rouge,” and “Good Girl’s Dark Secret,” have each garnered over 1 billion views, with more than 80 additional titles surpassing 100 million views in 2025.

Cassandra Yang, CEO and co-founder of RisingJoy, emphasizes the importance of curation in the company’s content strategy. She states, “Each title has been chosen because it works – capturing audiences, driving retention, and delivering real commercial results. That discipline remains steadfast as we continue to expand, attracting innovative partners with whom we can collaborate and grow.”

Looking ahead to 2026, RisingJoy has a first-window slate that includes “The Doppelganger” from South Korea’s Barunson E&A and “When Fish Swim to the Land” from China’s Netease Antelope. The company is also actively involved in co-developing micro IP with studios in China, Korea, Japan, India, and the U.S., as well as partnering with investor and strategic partner Double Vision on original micro formats. Additionally, RisingJoy is exploring co-production and production partnerships with various content creators, studios, and platforms across all genres. The company’s catalog also features AI anime and AI-generated content targeted at Gen Z audiences.

With its strategic partnerships, data-driven approach, and commitment to quality content, RisingJoy is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the rapidly growing microdrama market. Stay tuned for more exciting developments from this innovative distributor.
