President Trump Announces Deal to Open Strait of Hormuz
President Donald Trump took to social media on Sunday to announce a historic deal between the United States and Iran, signaling the opening of the highly strategic Strait of Hormuz.
In a bold statement, Trump declared, “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade.”
He continued, “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” This move is expected to have significant implications for global oil trade and maritime security.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed the finalization of the deal, noting that it would be officially signed in Switzerland later in the week. Gharibabadi expressed satisfaction with the agreement, stating that “all of our positions and important issues are included in the draft understanding.”
The announcement from the U.S. and Iran follows a statement from Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who revealed that both nations have agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon. This development marks a significant step towards regional stability and peace.
