Braylon Mullins’ girlfriend celebrates his iconic March Madness shot

UConn freshman guard Braylon Mullins captured the hearts of basketball fans everywhere with his game-winning shot in the Huskies’ Elite Eight matchup against Duke on Sunday. But it was his high school sweetheart, Kylee Beranek, who stole the show as they celebrated the thrilling victory together in a hotel room.

The couple, who hail from rival high schools just 11 miles apart in Indiana, shared a special moment as Mullins sank a long 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds left to secure a 73-72 win over top-seeded Duke. Beranek took to TikTok to share a video of their celebration, dancing and hugging to the tune of “Goin’ Back To Indiana” by The Jackson 5.

In the video, Beranek can be seen wearing jeans with Mullins’ name down the leg and a UConn t-shirt that boldly proclaimed, “We’re Not Done.” As the excitement of the victory sunk in, Mullins grabbed his Final Four hat from Beranek, who proudly displayed her shirt to the camera.

“HOMECOMING BABY!!” Beranek wrote in a post, referring to UConn’s upcoming semifinal matchup against third-seeded Illinois at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on April 4.

The couple’s journey from high school sweethearts to college athletes has been a remarkable one. Beranek, who graduated last May, joined Mullins at UConn in August, where they have continued to support each other both on and off the court.

Their story of love and basketball has captivated fans, with images of the couple embracing on the court after the Huskies’ victory circulating on social media. Mullins’ heroics on the court may have sealed the win for UConn, but it’s clear that having Beranek by his side has been the ultimate victory for the freshman guard.

As they prepare to face off against Illinois in the Final Four, Mullins and Beranek serve as a reminder that sometimes the greatest victories are the ones we share with the ones we love. Their journey from high school rivals to college sweethearts is a testament to the power of love and support in the face of adversity.
