Bystander intervenes as man attempts to lure girl in Lincoln Park
A disturbing incident occurred in Lincoln Park on Saturday morning when a man attempted to lure a young girl with candy. Thankfully, a quick-thinking bystander intervened, causing the suspect to flee the scene. The Chicago Police Department issued an alert regarding the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incident took place around 9:47 a.m. in the 2600 block of North Clark Street. The man approached the girl and tried to coerce her into buying or accepting candy. It was at this moment that a witness stepped in, prompting the suspect to leave the area.
The suspect is described as being between 40 to 49 years old, of unknown race, standing approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing around 150 pounds. He was wearing a white baseball cap, sunglasses, a buttoned-down blue-checkered shirt, tan shorts, and black gym shoes with white soles.
