‘Going Dutch’ Canceled After Two Seasons at Fox

Fox has announced the cancellation of the comedy series “Going Dutch,” according to a report from Variety. The show, which aired for two seasons on the network, saw its final episode air on April 23, marking the end of its run. The series was led by Denis Leary, who starred alongside Taylor Misiak, Danny Pudi, Laci Mosely, Hal Cumpston, Joe Morton, Catherine Tate, and Kristen Johnston.

The news of the cancellation comes just ahead of Fox’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York, where the network will unveil its plans for the upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast season. While many scripted shows have been renewed, including “Doc,” “Best Medicine,” and “Memory of a Killer,” “Going Dutch” will not be returning for another season.

In the live-action comedy genre, Fox’s only remaining show is the Joel McHale sitcom “Animal Control,” which was recently renewed for a fifth season. However, the network’s Animation Domination block, featuring popular shows like “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy,” and “American Dad,” will all be returning.

Fox has shifted its focus away from scripted programming in recent years, opting instead for a variety of unscripted formats and game shows. The network has greenlit a new dating show called “The Marriage Market,” hosted by Whitney Cummings, for the upcoming season.

The premise of “Going Dutch” follows the story of U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn, played by Leary, who is reassigned to a remote base in the Netherlands after a controversial outburst. Tasked with leading a group of military misfits, Quinn must navigate the challenges of the base while also reconnecting with his estranged daughter, who happens to be the base’s previous interim leader.

The series was created by Joel Church-Cooper, with Hilary Winston serving as executive producer and co-showrunner. Denis Leary and Jack Leary executive produced the show through their Amoeba production company, with Fox Entertainment Studios handling production.

While “Going Dutch” may have reached its end, Fox’s lineup for the upcoming season promises a mix of returning favorites and new offerings for viewers to enjoy.
