‘Hell on wheels’ killer Mackenzie Shirilla whined to mother in jailhouse call over her iPad, prison food
The infamous “Hell on Wheels” murderer Mackenzie Shirilla recently made headlines for her entitled behavior behind bars. Shirilla, who is serving time for intentionally crashing her car into a brick wall, killing her ex-boyfriend and a friend, complained to her mother about missing her iPad and the quality of prison food.
During a phone call from Cuyahoga County Jail in Cleveland, Ohio, Shirilla expressed her desire for her iPad, despite not knowing how she could access it in prison. She also complained about not being able to sleep at night and demanded a cushier lifestyle while awaiting trial.
In addition to her iPad demands, Shirilla also complained about the prison food, prompting her to start paying for meals with her own money. She even formed a cult following after news of the crash made it to national outlets, including a mention on the Today Show.
The deadly crash, which was captured on camera, showed Shirilla deliberately speeding her car into a brick warehouse, resulting in the deaths of her ex-boyfriend and friend. The incident was later featured in Netflix’s documentary “The Crash.”
Currently serving two concurrent sentences of 15 years to life at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, Shirilla was recorded fantasizing about launching a Hollywood career if she were released early. She even requested her Instagram bio to be changed to “#freekenzie,” despite her mother’s reluctance.
Despite her shocking behavior and entitlement, Shirilla continues to make waves with her outrageous demands and delusions of grandeur while serving time for her heinous crimes.
