Jeffrey Epstein was obsessed with trying to take down Trump before suicide: report

The late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein made a desperate attempt to secure leniency by digging up dirt on President Trump in the days leading up to his suicide. According to a report by the New York Times, Epstein fervently tried to provide incriminating evidence against Trump to prosecutors during his first term in office, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

During his time in a federal jail in Lower Manhattan, Epstein spent hours in meetings with his lawyers, jotting down disjointed one-liners about the president on legal pads. He referred to Trump as a “total con artist” and claimed that he “never had money.” Despite his efforts, Epstein was unable to deliver anything substantial to his legal team.

The disgraced financier also lamented about his circumstances in jail, complaining about being a wealthy “Pedophile in jail” and facing challenges like being denied phone calls and visits. He expressed frustration about the noise in the Special Housing Unit at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he was housed, stating that it made it “impossible to mount a defense.”

In his notes, Epstein also alleged that the guards would not intervene in acts of violence against him, even suggesting that his cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, a convicted murderer and former New York cop, could harm him without consequences. Tartaglione later revealed that Epstein was found dead in his cell on August 19, 2019, surrounded by makeshift nooses and materials for making them.

The saga of Epstein’s final days and his failed attempt to implicate President Trump in his legal troubles adds another layer of complexity to the controversial figure’s story. Despite his efforts, Epstein was unable to escape the consequences of his actions, ultimately meeting his demise in a jail cell.
