Taxi industry tycoon Andrew Murstein made a grand entrance into Leonard Stern’s prestigious 667 Madison Ave., joining a lineup of top-tier tenants at the boutique office tower.

Murstein, whose family played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s yellow cab industry, inked an 11-year lease to relocate his Medallion Financial Corp. from 437 Madison to the new 9,000 square-foot space at 667 Madison. Asking rents in the 267,000 square-foot property owned by Stern’s Hartz Group range from $120-$190 per square foot.

Other tenants at 667 Madison include RedBird Capital Partners, the Tisch family office, Sciens Capital Management, Corvex Management, and Crestview Partners. Luxury brands like Michael Kors, Smythson, and Paul & Shark also have retail space in the building.

Murstein recently launched “Project Boomerang,” a strategic initiative aimed at luring businesses and high-income individuals back to New York from Florida and Texas. The campaign utilizes various tactics, from TV advertisements to special deliveries of Katz’s pastrami.
