Trump tells ABC News peace agreement for Iran ‘will happen one way or another’

President Donald Trump recently sat down with ABC News to discuss the ongoing situation in Iran and his hopes for a potential peace deal. Trump expressed confidence in the possibility of reaching a resolution, stating, “It’s going to be very good. They are either going to do it or they are going to have problems. We’ll see what happens.”

The interview took place amidst continued negotiations between the United States and Iran, following conflicting messages from both countries regarding control over the vital shipping waterway, the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. has implemented a blockade in the region, while Iran claimed that its navy was moving to assert control over the passage. Reports emerged of Iran firing on at least two ships, heightening tensions in the region.

Despite these escalations, Trump remained optimistic about the prospects for a peace agreement. He acknowledged the ceasefire violations that occurred but remained steadfast in his belief that a resolution would be achieved. “They committed,” Trump stated. “They have already violated that because shots were fired. That’s a violation of the ceasefire. A very serious violation of it. But they haven’t fired it since. We’ll see what happens. It’s going to go fine.”

When asked about the likelihood of securing a peace agreement between the U.S. and Iran, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to the process. “It will happen. One way or another. The nice way or the hard way,” he declared. “It’s going to happen. You can quote me.”

Trump’s remarks reflect his unwavering determination to navigate the complexities of the situation in Iran and work towards a peaceful resolution. As negotiations continue and tensions remain high, the world watches closely to see how events will unfold in the region.
