Why I Never Bought Another Samsung Galaxy Tab

My journey into the world of tablets began with the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500). Excited at first, I quickly became disenchanted and ultimately disappointed. This experience led me to vow never to purchase another Galaxy device again.

In 2011, I made the decision to invest in a high-performance tablet to avoid using an Apple iPad. At the time, Android tablets with a 10-inch touchscreen were a rare find. Apple had launched the first iPad in 2010, making it the popular choice among tablet users. Samsung later introduced the Galaxy Tab with a 7-inch touchscreen. When Samsung released a 10-inch model in 2011, I eagerly purchased it from Amazon for €579.

The Galaxy tablet initially impressed me with its responsiveness to swiping and tapping, as well as its smooth performance. Equipped with top-of-the-line hardware for its time, including a 1 GHz dual-core processor, a 25.65 cm screen, Wi-Fi capabilities, rear and front cameras, stereo speakers, and a powerful battery, the tablet allowed me to comfortably browse the web, shop online, and watch videos without the bulk and heat of a laptop.

I soon found myself carrying the Galaxy tablet everywhere I went, investing in a sturdy case for protection. While the case added weight and bulkiness, it provided peace of mind knowing my tablet was safe. The tablet also provided entertainment with games like Cut the Rope and Fruit Ninja.

Despite my initial satisfaction with the Galaxy tablet, my enthusiasm waned as I realized I would only receive one minor Android update. This lack of ongoing software support was disappointing and a major drawback.

The tablet’s downfall came shortly after the warranty expired when the screen suddenly stopped functioning. Despite no prior warning or signs of damage, the tablet became unusable. Frustrated by this premature failure, I made the switch to an iPad and never looked back. The iPad proved to be a reliable and durable alternative, serving me and my family well over the years.

In conclusion, my experience with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 left me disillusioned and dissatisfied. The lack of software updates and the sudden hardware failure were major letdowns. Since transitioning to an iPad, I have enjoyed a seamless and trouble-free tablet experience.
