Celeste Rivas’ Parents Investigated, Cleared Over Child Neglect Allegations
Celeste Rivas’ parents were under investigation for alleged child neglect and abuse a year before D4vd allegedly murdered the 14-year-old runaway. However, law enforcement found no evidence of wrongdoing, according to TMZ.
The investigation was opened by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office after Celeste went missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, CA. This occurred on April 27, following her second reported disappearance. It’s unclear who made the initial complaint, but the RCSD received concerns about a juvenile who had run away.
Deputies responded to Celeste’s home and interviewed everyone present. Despite their efforts, no evidence of child neglect was found. Unfortunately, they were unable to interview Celeste herself as she had not been located at that time.
Celeste’s family had reported her missing in February and April of 2024. Prosecutors revealed that Riverside Co. deputies contacted D4vd after finding his number in Celeste’s phone records. He claimed to have last spoken to her on Feb. 13 or 14 but professed ignorance of her age or missing status.
Two days after returning home, Celeste’s parents confiscated her phone. Allegedly, D4vd reconnected with her by driving to Lake Elsinore and paying one of her junior high classmates $1,000 to deliver a phone he had purchased for her.
Tragically, more than a year later, D4vd arranged for an Uber to transport Celeste from Lake Elsinore to his Hollywood Hills residence on April 23, 2025. Upon her arrival, he reportedly took her life.
Prosecutors assert that D4vd and Celeste first encountered each other in 2022 when she was 11 years old. They claim that a sexual relationship began in November 2023 when she was 13 and he was 18.
The case surrounding Celeste Rivas’ tragic demise continues to unfold, shedding light on the complexities of child protection and the dangers facing vulnerable youth.
