Sickening TikTokkers are doing the ‘Austin Boppers’ dance and reenacting teen’s murder by Karmelo Anthony

The online world has been buzzing with a disturbing trend following the death of teenager Austin Metcalf, who was tragically stabbed in the heart by 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony. Anthony, who was recently sentenced to 35 years for the heinous crime, has garnered a group of supporters who are glorifying the murder in a sickening online trend.

Videos circulating on social media show supporters of Anthony dancing with knives, mimicking stabbing motions, and even pretending to stab themselves while a viral rap song titled “Austin Bop” plays in the background. The lyrics of the song are shockingly callous, with lines like “Austin bop, knife had blood on the tip when he dropped … coughin’ up blood, you think he got ebola.”

The online posts include clips of individuals dancing and miming stabbing actions to the song, as well as anti-Metcalf memes, such as one featuring a funeral pavilion with the caption “Austin wanted a tent…he got one.” The disrespectful and insensitive nature of these posts has sparked outrage and disgust among internet users.

The tragic incident occurred during a fight over a seat at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, where Anthony fatally stabbed Metcalf. The conviction of Anthony for first-degree murder sparked a wave of emotions, with supporters of both sides engaging in heated confrontations outside the courthouse. Demonstrators clashed, leading to arrests and tense moments during the trial.

The online trolling and abuse have escalated, with Metcalf supporters sending copies of his obituary to the Anthony household and Anthony supporters making fake police calls to report crimes at the Metcalf family home. The toxic behavior has extended to social media, where derogatory songs like “Austin Pack” are being shared, targeting Metcalf’s twin brother Hunter, who witnessed his brother’s tragic death.

While some users have defended the videos as fair play in response to similar incidents involving public figures, others have condemned the cruel and insensitive nature of the content. One Instagram user, @RobintheMartyr, highlighted the malicious intent behind mocking and making fun of an innocent person losing their life, calling it demonic and refusing to partake in such behavior.

As the online trend continues to spread, it serves as a stark reminder of the dark side of social media and the impact it can have on real-life tragedies. The glorification of violence and insensitivity towards loss only perpetuate a culture of callousness and cruelty, highlighting the need for greater empathy and respect in online interactions.
