“Saturday Night Live U.K.” Ratings Dip in Second Episode

The second episode of “Saturday Night Live U.K.” saw a decline in viewership, drawing 205,000 viewers compared to 226,000 for the premiere. The show opened with a sketch about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) and the Epstein scandal.

Hosted by “Fifty Shades” star Jamie Dornan and featuring musical act Wolf Alice, the episode aired on Comcast-owned pay TV channel Sky One at 10 p.m.

The audience share also saw a slight decrease, dropping from 3.2% to 3.17% according to official BARB figures.

Despite the TV ratings, sketches from the show gained traction on YouTube. The Prince Andrew sketch garnered 829,000 views in 14 hours, while a hostage sketch featuring Jamie Dornan and cast member Annabel Marlow discussing their character’s relationship status received almost 206,000 views in 13 hours.

In the competitive 10 p.m. time slot, the news on BBC One dominated with 1.6 million viewers, followed by “The Jonathan Ross Show” on ITV1 and the film “Moonfall” on Channel 4.

The top show of the night was “Gladiators” on BBC One with 3.3 million viewers, followed by “Britain’s Got Talent” on ITV 1 and “Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel” on BBC One.

“SNL U.K.,” executive produced by Lorne Michaels, debuted with a star-studded episode featuring Michael Cera, Graham Norton, Regé-Jean Page, and Nicola Coughlan.

Next week’s episode on April 4 will be hosted by Riz Ahmed with musical guest Kasabian.
