Texas shopping mall shooter allegedly killed 2, injured 3 in revenge plot against business partners for ‘taking his money’: court docs

A Texas Man’s Twisted Murder-Suicide Plot Unravels in Carrollton

A shocking incident unfolded in Carrollton, Texas, as Seung Han Ho, a 69-year-old man, carried out a botched murder-suicide plot against his business partners. Court documents recently revealed the disturbing details of the planned attack that resulted in the death of two individuals and the injury of three others.

The violent episode took place at the K-Towne strip mall in Carrollton, where Ho allegedly targeted the shopping center’s owners and employees in a premeditated act of violence. According to an affidavit obtained by Fox 4, Ho confronted four victims – Sung Rae Cho, Olivia Kim, Yo Sung Kim, and Young Yoo – at the mall, indicating that he did not have their rent money but did possess a pistol.

Ho was embroiled in a financial dispute over a sushi restaurant at the plaza, which he was persuaded to purchase by the mall’s owner, Yoo, and local real estate agent Edward Schleigh. The deals involving the restaurant and another property in Georgia fell through, leading to Ho demanding his money back, a request that was denied by the business partners.

Enraged by the situation, Ho seized the victims’ cellphones and opened fire after a heated argument, resulting in the death of Sung Rae Cho and injuries to the other individuals. Despite the chaos, the survivors are expected to recover from their gunshot wounds.

Following the shooting at the mall, Ho targeted Schleigh at his apartment complex four miles away, where he fatally shot the real estate agent. Ho then proceeded to an H-Mart Korean grocery store, intending to bid farewell to friends before taking his own life, but his plans were thwarted when he was apprehended by law enforcement officers after a brief chase.

Ho now faces charges of two counts of capital murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with the former carrying the possibility of the death penalty in Texas.
