The Snack Board You Make Tonight and Serve All Week

A little prep tonight can make tomorrow’s after-school snack feel like a treat instead of another task. Put together a board with homemade deviled eggs, something crunchy, something sweet, and a peanut butter dip for the fans in your house. November is National Peanut Butter Lovers Month, after all.

The best part is how easily this board can do double duty. Set it out after school, then bring the idea back for game day. Everyone can graze, and nobody has to wait for a formal snack or meal to be served.

Start with the eggs. Boil and shell them tonight, then store the whites covered in the refrigerator. In the morning, mix the yolks with a little mayonnaise and mustard, spoon the filling into the whites, and finish with a light dusting of paprika. You can also prep a creamy peanut butter dip and keep it chilled alongside apple slices or celery. Add crackers or raw vegetable sticks for crunch, plus grapes for a sweet bite.

For an easy evening, set out the board and serving bowls tonight, but keep the eggs, cut produce, and dip covered in the refrigerator. Finish arranging everything tomorrow. Keep the board low and kid-reachable, with small bowls and serving spoons that are easy for little hands to manage. If peanut allergies are a concern, check with your guests and keep alternatives separate.

When snack time is over, return perishable foods to the refrigerator promptly. For a longer hangout, put out smaller portions and replenish from the fridge so the whole board doesn’t sit out.

It’s a simple way to make an ordinary afternoon feel shared, and a plan you can revisit for the next game. What’s the must-have on your snack board: the egg, the crunch, or the sweet?
