Video shows ex-MLB star Trevor Bauer climb from McLaren after Arizona crash
The incident involving former MLB Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer and his mangled McLaren has shocked fans and bystanders alike. The video footage of Bauer stepping out of the wrecked $600,000 car in a dazed state, exclaiming “Dude, what the f–k?” captures the intensity of the moment. The crash occurred in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Bauer was receiving treatment for an injury.
A bystander rushed to the scene and warned Bauer not to move too quickly, emphasizing the severity of the impact. The luxury vehicle was severely damaged, with the driver’s side completely crushed, and debris scattered across the roadway. Fortunately, Bauer escaped the crash unharmed, despite the extensive damage to his McLaren.
Bauer, who currently plays for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League, had been in Arizona for treatment of back spasms before the crash. The incident was determined to be the fault of the other driver, who also emerged unscathed. Ducks president Michael Pfaff confirmed that Bauer avoided serious injury in the collision.
The 35-year-old pitcher has been trying to make a comeback in Major League Baseball since facing sexual assault allegations in 2021. Despite being suspended for violating MLB’s policies, Bauer has maintained his innocence and settled a civil lawsuit with the accuser outside of court. He has since played in Japan and Mexico before joining the Ducks.
The Ducks, a U.S. baseball club, took a chance on Bauer, offering him an opportunity to showcase his talent once again. As Bauer continues to navigate the aftermath of the crash and his past controversies, his determination to return to the major leagues remains unwavering.
