Mango clothing chain founder Isak Andic’s son Jonathan Andic denies killing his father
Jonathan Andic Denies Murder Allegation in Father’s Death Investigation
Jonathan Andic, the son of Mango clothing empire founder Isak Andic, has been arrested in Spain as part of an investigation into his father’s death in 2024. He has vehemently denied the accusation of murder, calling it “serious, unjust, and unfounded” in an open letter to staff. Andic, who was the vice president of the fashion giant’s board, has announced that he will step down to focus on his legal defense.
In his letter to staff, Andic stated, “A public narrative has been created based on a view that is biased, distorted, and taken out of context, which has created a perception of guilt that has nothing to do with reality.” This is his first public comment on the case since his arrest.

Andic expressed his decision to step down from his position sadly but believes it is in the best interest of the company and himself. He stated, “I need to concentrate all my energy on demonstrating my innocence.”
The incident in question occurred while Andic was hiking with his father in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona, resulting in Isak Andic’s fatal fall on December 14, 2024. Initially deemed an accident, prosecutors reopened the investigation in October 2025, focusing on Jonathan Andic, who was subsequently arrested and later released on bail.
Jonathan Andic was appointed as the executive vice president of Mango’s holding company in January 2025, shortly after his father’s death. This development came under scrutiny following the reopening of the investigation into Isak Andic’s demise.
