Car plows through six pedestrians in possibly targeted attack in Culver City
A shocking incident unfolded in Los Angeles’ Culver City on Tuesday when a suspect intentionally struck several pedestrians with his vehicle before leading police on a dramatic chase that ended with an injured officer.
The chaos began around 7 p.m. with a call about a carjacking incident where the suspect brandished a knife. As officers arrived at the scene, the suspect fled, driving recklessly and hitting two pedestrians before the pursuit ensued. The suspect continued to drive erratically, running red lights and driving on the side of the road, ultimately colliding with four more pedestrians as the chase continued into Los Angeles.
The suspect’s rampage came to a crashing end when they collided in a McDonald’s drive-thru, injuring a police officer in the process. The suspect was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is now facing a slew of charges, including attempted murder. The motive behind the targeted attack remains unknown as the investigation continues.
Authorities expressed concern over the suspect’s reckless behavior, stating, “I don’t know what his motivation was or what the thought process was. What we do know is he was acting recklessly and dangerously and putting lives in jeopardy in our city.”
Multiple vehicles were also damaged during the pursuit, adding to the chaos and danger created by the suspect’s actions. The condition of the pedestrians involved in the incident is currently unknown.
